Chapman Tornado

Here are some photos of the town of Chapman located 10 miles from our home. Last week a tornado went right through the center of town. A lot of people lost their homes. Many of the homes that were damaged are located in a flood zone, which means they can not rebuild. Insurance doesn't cover the cost of tearing down the rest of what's left of their homes, nor does it cover the cost to haul everything a way. The neighboring towns have really pulled together to help out the people of Chapman. I can't even imagine what they are going through. That same tornado was in Salina... just West of us, it went over the top of Abilene, then touched back down 8 miles East of us. Click on the pictures to enlarge..

Both the Elementary and High School suffered a lot of damage.

The fireplace and the toilet made it through the storm.

Kara - that's amazing! You see pictures on the news all the time, but it's crazy when someone you know lives right there and takes pictures themselves! So glad you guys are safe - that is so scary!!
